Hey, guys! This is LarryBoy Fanatic.
I was watching LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed the other night.
And I was thinking: Maybe this week, instead of telling the story of my last time at Family Christian, maybe I can tell you guys the story of when LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed was my favorite LarryBoy video. So, that's what I'm gonna do today.
So, strap in, get your popcorn and soda, and sit back and relax, as I tell you guys the story of how LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed was my favorite video of all the LarryBoy videos.
Now, the story takes place back in the early 2000s-- when I was in the sixth grade, 2004, I believe... Now, this was way before LarryBoy and the Bad Apple had hit the scene in 2006; so, LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed, at the time, was my all-time favorite.
When I had first watched this video, it was during the time when my grandma had brought a big bag full of VeggieTales videos home from the thrift store (or wherever she got them from--I don't remember). I remember watching LarryBoy and the Fib from Outer Space first, since that one came before Rumor Weed. So, when it was time to watch Rumor Weed, my heart was pounding when I slipped the VHS tape into the VCR. And after watching the first three minutes of the video, I fell in love with it.
I remember in the sixth grade I would watch this video over and over, on different occasions. I would ask if I can watch the video, and I would chill in my grandma's room to watch it. When I watch the movie, I would marvel at the following:
1. the first three minutes of the video: LarryBoy's epic scene of him taking down the Milk Money Bandit
2. the suspense (to an extent--sometimes it can be a bit melodramatic)
3. the plot (even though LarryBoy didn't technically save the day--SPOILERS)
To me, this video was epic.
However, there was one point where my family told me to watch something else.
I remember begging my parents to let me watch a different LarryBoy video (the Fib from Outer Space video), but they insisted on watching the video themselves before making their decision. When I got done with my shower, the video had ended. And that was when they told me to watch something else. I was heartbroken, because I wasn't able to watch what I loved.
Instead, I was forced to settle for a VeggieTales video called The End of Silliness?! (By the way, I remember that video being depressing, because Larry the Cucumber was sad in that one--or maybe it was because I wasn't a LarryBoy video at the time.) I folded, because it was either watch a different VeggieTales video, or not watch anything at all.
I was so angry at that time. I was crying through the End of Silliness?! video, and I was still bawling my eyes out at bedtime. The anger I had... the sadness... It was all too much for me.
Why? I wasn't allowed to watch what I loved, because it was deemed too obsessive in my family's eyes. If only they knew that LarryBoy meant so much to me... They wouldn't understand.
But obviously, I wasn't banned from watching LarryBoy videos forever. Obviously, to this day, I'm still watching LarryBoy videos. Even now, as an adult, I got the DVDs, I got the merch... Hey! At this point, I can watch the videos whenever I want. And that's most of why I became the LarryBoy Fanatic, was because of how much I've watched the videos, and know a lot out of them.
LarryBoy is my world, and will continue to be my world.

So, that's the story, you guys. LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed used to be my favorite LarryBoy... well, that is until LarryBoy and the Bad Apple came out in 2006. : )
But anyways, thanks for tuning into this week's #throwbackthursday story. Sorry if I made a last-minute change on which story to tell. I just thought I tell this story, since I was watching Rumor Weed the other night, and it was then that I remembered the story. Maybe I'll tell the story of my last day at Family Christian next week, or sometime later in the future... Or maybe I'll tell a different story next week... Who knows? I have a lot of stories to tell! So stay tuned to both my blog and my YouTube channel!
